Taking to the Skies Exhibition
The National Lottery Heritage Fund supported project took residency at the International Aviation Academy in Norwich where work created by the Men's Shed Norwich, Pitt Stop and the Wherry School was exhibited. They had researched local engineering firm Boulton & Paul who had 200 years of manufacturing in the city. Wherry school made animations about the Sopwith Camels that B&P built during WW1. A model making group has been formed at the Pitt Stop enabling members to create in a calm environment. The Men's Shed made several model Sopwith Camels and a quarter size replica which will be donated to the IAA once completed.
Amongst the visitors were many former employees who shared their stories of work life.
