Brush Industry of South Norfolk

We are working in Attleborough, Diss and Wymondham with schools and communities investigating the heritage of brush manufacture in these towns.  Diss Corn Hall will host a summer-long exhibition of work created from research into the industry. https://www.thecornhall.co.uk/shows/a-brush-with-the-past/

ERMCIC are working with internationally renowned artist Maz Jackson and Wymondham College students to create artwork inspired by this theme. Maz will also create an exhibition of her own work.

Roydon Primary school pupils have made animations based on their research - mostly involving a pig!

Diss Youth Club are interviewing former workers at the factory located there.

Diss Corn Hall arts group have made quirky comical brush animations.

This project has been supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and ERMCIC are grateful for their continued support on this community enabling project.

Sam Mason Director MTM Youth Services said "This is a good opportunity for ythe young people to realise their place in their community. It shows they are interested in the wider community and particularly the local history of their town".
